What is Polymarket?
Polymarket is a decentralised prediction market built on the Polygon blockchain. It lets anyone buy and sell shares on the outcome of real-world events — politics, sports, science, economics — using USDC (a stablecoin pegged 1:1 to the US dollar).
The basics
Each market on Polymarket frames a question with a definitive yes-or-no (or multiple-choice) answer: "Will X win the election?", "Will inflation exceed Y%?", "Will company Z announce a merger before date W?" Shares trade between 1¢ and 99¢ and pay out exactly $1 when the correct outcome is confirmed.
Polymarket currently handles hundreds of millions of dollars in monthly trading volume across thousands of active markets, making it the largest crypto prediction market by a wide margin.
Why Polymarket data is special
Because Polymarket runs on a public blockchain, every trade is permanently recorded and anyone can read it. There is no hidden order book and no opaque counterparty. This is fundamentally different from traditional financial markets, where most order flow is invisible to outsiders.
It also means you can identify wallets with strong track records and watch what they do in real time. That is exactly what Edgewatch does: it tracks a curated set of high-conviction Polymarket wallets and surfaces their activity as structured, scored signals.
How Polymarket resolves markets
When an event concludes, a decentralised oracle (UMA protocol) confirms the real-world outcome. The smart contract then automatically distributes $1 per share to holders of the correct outcome token, with no manual intervention needed. Disputes are resolved by UMA's token-voting system.
What Edgewatch adds on top
Raw on-chain data is noisy. Edgewatch filters it through an automated analytics engine that identifies statistically significant wallets, scores each trade against current market prices, and flags structural edges — like sweeps (multiple independent traders piling into the same side) or basket-arb opportunities (when all outcomes on a market sum to less than $1).
Information only — Edgewatch is an analytics layer over Polymarket's public data. It is not affiliated with Polymarket and does not place trades or hold funds. Not financial advice.
